Each Year, before Christmas we take our Key Stage One children to The Brindley theatre in Runcorn to watch a Pantomime.

At this special school showing children get to sing, laugh and join in with the actors on the stage, and take part in a fun festive, British tradition!

We find it is a great experience for the children to see a traditional tale that they may have read in Early Years and build on that prior knowledge in a fun and engaging way.

In Year 1 and Year 2 our children have experiences of being able to visit both Walton Hall Zoo and Smithill's open farm in Bolton.

During these visits the children are able to reflect on their science learning of Living things (including animals) and consolidate what knowledge they have already gathered in their first few years at Chapelford. These experiences enable our children to recall more information prom prior learning which is a key part of the National Curriculum.
