What is the Parent Forum?

The Parent Forum is a partnership between parents, governors and the school. It is a valuable way to share ideas, views, concerns and make suggestions for improvement.

The aims of the Parent Forum will be to:

  • work together to improve the education provided for our children
  • share information, knowledge and skills
  • meet in a mutually supportive environment
  • further improve communications between parent/carers and staff/governors

How often will the Parent Forum meet?

Every half-term for about an hour.

What will be discussed at the meetings?

Anything related to improving the school and further developing the partnership between the school and parents. The meetings are an opportunity for an open discussion. Minutes of the meetings will be taken and these will be accessible on the school’s website.

What will not be discussed at the meetings?

Concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff. These issues should be raised with the Class Teacher or Assistant Headteacher in a confidential meeting as outlined in our meeting with parents policy.

How can I raise an issue?

Ask your class representative to raise an issue or make a suggestion on your behalf or email us at: parentforum@chapelfordvillageprimary.co.uk

Mrs Gaby Hannibal

Parent Forum Representative - EYFS

Hello, my name is Gaby Hannibal. I am married and have 2 daughters, I work as a Police Officer in Manchester, a job that I love. I think it is a combination of my desire to help people coupled with having daughters who are currently at Chapelford in EYFS and Year 2 which has prompted me to join the forum. Outside of work I love spending time with my family. My eldest daughter is keen to start running, so you may see us jogging together around Boston Boulevard when the weather is nice! The Forum is a great idea to help communication between Parents and the school, so If you see me around the playground, please come and have a chat. I am happy to raise any issues you may have even if they are not related to Reception.

Mrs Lisa Sandham

Parent Forum Representative Year 2

Hi!, I’m your parent representative for all Year 2 children. I’m a motivated and passionate person who cares A LOT. I work full time as a Business Consultant, helping companies identify and deliver change, mostly in Banking and Retail. This often means managing lots of programmes of work, so I’m used to meetings and debates, and some might say I even enjoy them! Whilst I can be assertive when necessary, I’m mostly a soft hearted, caring, happy and (I hope) fun person to be around. My hobbies include learning to fly, seeking the elusive diet that lets me eat as much as I want and not have to exercise.....ever; and constantly trying to secretly rid our house of the growing toy population - then undoing all the hard work in a heartbeat by increasing it again. I look forward to speaking to you all!

Mrs Zennie Major

Parent Forum Representative - Year 6

Hi I'm Zennie Major, I have a son here at Chapelford. I work full time so understand the pressures of working and juggling life as a parent. In my role I’m required to be super organised so making sure I know what’s going on is important to me in making sure everything runs seamlessly, also juggling a number of different things at once! Joining the parent forum allows me to be more connected with what's really happening in school and to be a voice for the parents. I'm keen to ensure parents are listened to and have the opportunity to make their children's time at chapelford a great place, along with every child getting the development and support they need. Im pleased to be on the forum and I'm looking forward to representing Year 3. I would encourage anyone who'd like to share any thoughts that they'd like exploring and I'll help to champion this in collaboration with the teachers at Chapelford. I'm also a huge Zumba fan and volunteer at Chapelford's 34th Beaver group!

Mrs Jeanette Buller

Parent Forum Representative - Year 6

My name is Jeanette Buller. I am mum to 2 boys one of which attends Chapelford. I’ve volunteered in school since Spencer started in 2013, helping out in the classroom and on various school trips. I also help out with ChaPTA events when I can, as it’s really important to me to take as active a role as possible, in all aspects of school life. When the opportunity arose to be part of the new Parent Forum I was hesitant at first, however I realised in order to address parent concerns I wanted to contribute what I could to the group. I believe this also provides the opportunity to share success stories too, which are just as important. This group opens up regular two way communication between parents and school staff which should lead to concerns being alleviated in a much quicker manner. More often than not I do the school drop off and pick up for my boys, so please feel free to pass on any information you’d like me to take back to the meetings. Hope to get to know a few more of you soon.
