Earlier this week the Year 1 children from Chapelford Village Primary School were taken to Warrington's Parr Hall to watch a pantomime performance of the classic tale, "Jack and the Beanstalk." Fairytales are not just entertaining stories; they play a crucial role in the development of a child's imagination. These tales offer valuable lessons about courage, resourcefulness, and the triumph of good over evil. The trip allowed the children to witness the magic of the tale come alive through vibrant characters, colourful sets, and a lively performance. The laughter and gasps of awe echoed through the auditorium as the students were transported into the fantastical realm of giants, beans, and brave Jack.

Last term, the Year 1 students delved into the enchanting world of "Jack and the Beanstalk" through the pages of "Nibbles the Book Monster" by Emma Yarlett. This helped support the children understand what was happening within the performance including the characters and plot. At Chapelford Village Primary School, our commitment to excellence is evident as high-quality texts are carefully selected, seamlessly woven throughout the curriculum, and thoughtfully linked to enriching experiences and educational trips, creating a cohesive and immersive learning journey for all our students.

As the children returned to the classroom, they wrote about their experience. It was referred to as 'the best day ever', so we think it was a great success!
