Year 5 Safety Central Trip
Year 5 pupils have been on an exciting trip to Safety Central, which is an interactive life skills centre run by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. The centre runs different sessions and workshops for children of different year groups and ages. Both year groups had a fantastic time exploring the centre whilst learning how to stay safe in different contexts.
The children in Year 5 have learnt how to prevent fires, explored road safety and looked at how to stay safe in the community and online. This is such an important topic for our children who are growing up in a time where technology is ever present and changing.
To further explore how to keep themselves safe and well, they discussed the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The children took part in a range of activities including role play, hazard spotting and even went shopping to pick out a healthy lunch! The centre staff and teachers were all very impressed with the children’s behaviour and enthusiasm towards their learning.
