This week, Year 2 and Year 5 pupils have been on an exciting trip to Safety Central, which is an interactive life skills centre run by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. The centre runs different sessions and workshops for children of different year groups and ages. Both year groups had a fantastic time exploring the centre whilst learning how to stay safe in different contexts.

The children in Year 5 have learnt how to prevent fires, explored road safety and looked at how to stay safe in the community and online. This is such an important topic for our children who are growing up in a time where technology is ever present and changing.

To further explore how to keep themselves safe and well, they discussed the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The children took part in a range of activities including role play, hazard spotting and even went shopping to pick out a healthy lunch! The centre staff and teachers were all very impressed with the children’s behaviour and enthusiasm towards their learning.

The Year 2 children also took a fun-filled trip to Safety Central in Lymm, where they completed the exciting Safety Stars programme! The children explored key safety topics, from fire safety and first aid to staying safe at home and in the community. Through interactive activities and engaging workshops, the children developed essential life skills while having lots of fun. The children explored a home, train station, park, and shop where they had to pick out the potential hazards as well as learning about a balanced diet from the items picked up in the shop. This was a fantastic hands-on experience that helped our children understand how to stay safe in various situations. Well done to all our budding Safety Stars!

Safety Central Visit
