Year 1 have been busy geographers this week as they explored our school grounds on a geographical hunt!

The children headed outside to spot and identify a range of different human and physical features, carefully ticking them off as they found them. They used their observations to think about the different features that make up our school environment and where they can be found.

Back in the classroom, the children put their knowledge and map-making skills to the test by creating their very own maps of the school. They used Multilink to represent different geographical features and carefully labelled their maps, thinking about the location of each feature.

It was fantastic to see the children using their observations to create their own representations of our school and developing their understanding of maps, symbols and geographical features.
