This half term, Year 3 are exploring textiles in Design and Technology, developing practical skills and learning how different materials can be joined together.

In their first lesson, the children began developing their sewing skills by learning how to join two pieces of material using a running stitch. They carefully practised threading their needles, creating even stitches and securing the materials together.

It was fantastic to see the children showing precision, patience and perseverance as they got to grips with this new skill. They worked carefully and confidently, supporting one another and taking pride in their developing sewing skills.

We can’t wait to see how their textile projects develop over the coming weeks and what the children create!
