North West Air Ambulance Charity
Students at Chapelford Village Primary School were treated to a thrilling and educational experience when the North West Air Ambulance Charity paid a special visit to our school. The visit aimed to educate children about the vital role of emergency services and to highlight the significance of the charity's work in the community.
The North West Air Ambulance Charity operates 365 days a year, providing pre-hospital care to those who need it most. In 2023 alone, they were called out to over 3,100 missions, and an impressive 509 of those were right here in Cheshire. This underscores the crucial role they play in responding to emergencies and delivering life-saving care.
What sets the North West Air Ambulance Charity apart is that they receive no NHS or Government funding. The charity relies solely on generous donations from individuals and organisations to keep their helicopters flying and to continue their mission of saving lives. This financial independence is what makes community support and awareness so crucial for their continued success.
The school visit served as an opportunity for students to gain insight into the work of the air ambulance service and the importance of swift and efficient emergency response. Students were able to explore the helicopter, learn about the equipment used by the medical team, and ask questions to better understand the intricacies of pre-hospital care.
This year marks the North West Air Ambulance Charity's 25th birthday. To find out how to contribute to this life-saving cause or to learn more about the charity's initiatives, please visit their website at https://www.nwairambulance.org.uk/.
The school extends its gratitude to the North West Air Ambulance Charity for taking the time to inspire and educate the next generation of community members on the importance of emergency services. Danny who delivered the inspirational talk stated, "I must commend the students of Chapelford Village Primary School for their exceptional behaviour and enthusiasm across all year groups. They are a true credit to the school and the community as a whole!" The visit reinforced the critical role that community support plays in ensuring the continued success of organisations like the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
