On Wednesday 18th June, our school hosted a fantastic Summer Fair after school in partnership with chaPTA, our wonderful PTA. The aim? To raise as much money as possible to help fund a brand-new running track on the school field! This exciting addition will enhance PE lessons and support the children’s wishes for more physical activity during OPAL playtimes.

We’re ecstatic to announce that the fair raised a staggering £3,750! And that’s not all — over the course of the year, through amazing events like discos, chocolate bingo, and now the Summer Fair, we’ve raised over £10,000, which is a significant step towards our running track dream.

We were blessed with beautiful weather as external stallholders joined forces with our Year 6 enterprise teams, who each had a small budget to create and run their own profit-making stalls. There was an incredible range of goods on offer, including:

  • Novelty sweets
  • Dog treats
  • Beautiful flowers
  • Handcrafted crochet items
  • Tasty Egyptian food
  • The chaPTA tombola

And that wasn’t all! Families enjoyed snacks from The RG Food Truck (which completely sold out!), refreshing treats from the ice cream van, and a fantastic variety of games and attractions. Children loved:

  • Penalty shoot-outs
  • Face painting
  • The bucking bronco
  • Inflatable assault course
  • Glitter and hair accessory stall, run by our creative Year 6 team!

One of the biggest highlights of the event was our Star Prize Raffle! In the lead-up to the fair, children were given the opportunity to take raffle tickets home to sell to friends and family — and they did a fantastic job! The top prizes included a Nintendo Switch, a family stay at Gulliver’s World, and an Amazon Fire tablet! Winners have already been contacted — a huge congratulations to all the lucky families!

 A huge thank you to everyone who contributed time, energy, and positivity — we truly have an incredible school community, and we couldn't be prouder.
