On Monday evening, the stage at Parr Hall came alive as our talented pupils from Years 2–6 delivered a breathtaking performance inspired by our PAN theme: “The earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth.” Their work explored how every action, every voice, every choice becomes part of a larger story, a message captured beautifully in the PAN showcase title, “Once Spoken, Forever Echoed.”

The performance opened with a gentle, heartfelt performance of Back to the Earth by Jason Mraz. Our young musicians played ukuleles with confidence and joy, their melodies blending seamlessly with rich, warm vocals. The song’s message (returning to nature and rediscovering our place within it) was delivered with such sincerity that many in the audience were visibly moved.

Our second act transformed Parr Hall into a world of swirling colour and motion. Children took on roles representing the oceans, volcanoes, forests, wildlife, and the many colours of our earth, using flowing fabrics to create a living, breathing landscape on stage.

The performance of Colours of the Wind was both visually and emotionally powerful. Children moved with purpose and intention, illustrating the delicate balance of nature and our responsibility to protect it.

A Year 3 performer said:

“I got to be the ocean, and I loved showing how the waves move. It felt like we were telling the earth’s story.”

For the grand finale, the entire group came back together for an uplifting celebration song: “It’s Our World!” The energy was electric, voices soared and the message of unity and stewardship rang out clearly. Watching every child sing their hearts out reminded us all of the importance of hope, action, and community.

One Year 6 student summed it up perfectly:

“Singing together made me feel like we can all make a difference. It’s our world so we should look after it!”

We are incredibly proud of all our performers. Their hard work, determination, creativity, and resilience in the weeks leading up to the event shone through in every note, every step, every moment on stage. The children were nothing short of magnificent and they truly embodied the spirit of this year’s PAN theme and represented Chapelford perfectly.

A huge thank you to the staff and families who supported them along the way too. Your encouragement helped make this evening both meaningful and magical.

Here’s to the echoes they created and the positive change they will continue to inspire.
