Year 6 Discover the Components of Blood!
Year 6 had a fantastic time exploring the different components of blood in Science by creating their very own ‘blood models’!
Using a range of ingredients to represent red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma, the children explored the important role each component plays in keeping our bodies healthy.
They discovered that red blood cells transport oxygen, white blood cells help to fight infection, platelets help the blood to clot and plasma carries substances around the body.
The children really enjoyed getting hands-on with their learning, carefully creating their models while discussing how the different components work together.
It was fantastic to see such curiosity, enthusiasm and scientific thinking throughout the lesson. A fun and practical science lesson with plenty of learning along the way!
