A busy week at CVPS!

It's been an incredible week at Chapelford Village Primary School, packed with exciting events and fantastic opportunities for our children to learn, grow, and continue to thrive. Here's a roundup of the highlights:
Warrington Primary Art Network Performance at Parr Hall
We kicked off the week with an unforgettable evening at the Parr Hall, as part of the Warrington Primary Art Network event. Children from Year 4 to Year 6 were selected to represent the school in a performance that involved singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. The theme of the performance was ‘All Change,’ and the children did an amazing job demonstrating the impact that music can have on our emotions and well-being.
A huge thank you to Miss Garty, Miss Alas, and Mrs Hadley for their hard work in coaching and choreographing such a wonderful performance. The children had an incredible time and were even treated to a delicious tea at the White Hart before the show! A big thank you to Darren, Nicola, and the team for looking after us so well. We are so proud of all the children for their hard work and dedication, and a heartfelt thanks to everyone who came to support them – it truly was a magical performance.
Celebrating Eid Across Our School Community
Back in school, we came together to learn about the significance of Eid-al-Fitr and how it's celebrated within our community. Mrs Tickle, our RE lead, planned some engaging and insightful sessions, and each year group focused on different aspects of Eid, from its cultural importance to the various traditions and customs.
The children had the opportunity to reflect on their own beliefs and thoughts while expanding their knowledge about the wider community. They also participated in a range of creative activities, including designing their own henna patterns and creating moons with special messages. These activities helped develop the children's artistic and cultural awareness, fostering their creativity and imagination.
Eid Learning Overview:
-
Understanding why Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated.
-
Providing children with the opportunity to reflect on their own beliefs.
-
Enhancing knowledge about the community and encouraging collaboration.
OPAL Stay and Play Session – A Huge Success!
On Wednesday, we held our very first OPAL stay and play session, and we are delighted to share that it was a huge success! Families were invited to come along and enjoy a special afternoon in which all of our playtime provisions were open for exploration and fun. It was wonderful to see so many children and families enjoying the equipment and having a great time together in the sunshine.
The session was also a fantastic fundraiser for chaPTA, and we are pleased to report that a vital amount of money was raised. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, the RG Food Truck for providing delicious snacks, and of course, to chaPTA for their fantastic organisation and support.
Looking Ahead
We are so proud of all the wonderful things our children have achieved this week. As always, we are committed to providing exciting opportunities for our children to learn and grow, and we look forward to sharing more great experiences with you in the coming weeks!
Thank you to all our children, staff, parents, and members of the wider school community for making this week so special!
