Year 3 Art Meets History – Stone Age Pottery!

This week, Year 3 have proudly completed their Stone Age-inspired pots as part of their art learning.
After exploring different hand-building techniques such as coil pots and pinch pots, the children made thoughtful notes in their sketchbooks about how each method is used and what its purpose is. They discussed the main differences between the two styles and how the techniques influenced the final design.
Using all of the skills they’ve practised — including shaping, joining, adding pattern and texture — the children applied their knowledge to create their very own unique pots. The results are fantastic and show just how creative and focused they’ve been!
