Year 3 have been exploring Food Technology in DT by diving into the world of biscuits! After researching popular biscuits and tasting different flavours and textures, they learned all about food hygiene and baking techniques.
They used their prior learning to think about the following questions when following the recipe:
1. Why do we mix sugar and butter first?
2. What does sieving the flour do?
3. Why is it important to use a biscuit cutter?
4. What happens if one biscuit is bigger than the others?
They measured, mixed, and cut their dough—working collaboratively to create biscuits that were not only tasty but perfectly baked.
