It has been such a busy and exciting week at Chapelford Village Primary that we found it impossible to choose just one highlight so we’ve decided to celebrate everything our amazing pupils have been involved in!

Commemorating Remembrance Day

As a school community, we came together to mark Remembrance Day with respect and gratitude. Our Head Boy and Head Girl worked hard throughout the week selling poppies in support of the Royal British Legion.

To further show our thanks to the service of men and women, past and present, our school ambassadors visited Penketh War Memorial on Tuesday to lay a wreath on behalf of Chapelford Village Primary School. The children represented us beautifully. They paid their respects with great maturity and even had the chance to speak with members of the local community about the importance of remembrance.

Back in school, children across all year groups spent time learning about significant individuals involved in different wars throughout history. They explored their lives, contributions and the legacies they left behind.
We are incredibly proud of the respect, thoughtfulness and sensitivity shown by our pupils.

Anti-Bullying Week

This week also marked our celebrations for Anti-Bullying Week—an important part of our school calendar. Throughout the week, pupils focused on what bullying is, how to recognise it, what to do if they witness it, and how to support themselves or others if they feel worried.

As always, we launched the week with Odd Socks Day, a fun and vibrant reminder that we are all different and that our uniqueness is something to celebrate! Children went on to create kindness pledges and write postcards of kindness, spreading positivity around the school.

We are proud to be a school that does not tolerate bullying and continues to educate our children on the importance of kindness, respect and understanding.

Year 5 Residential at Robinwood

Last but certainly not least… Robinwood!
Our Year 5 pupils set off on the first residential of the academic year on Wednesday, and they have had an unforgettable experience.

Robinwood offers a wide range of exciting and challenging activities - many of which were brand new to our children. From the crate challenge to high ropes, caving and canoeing, every activity required teamwork, courage and perseverance. Staff who supported the trip shared how proud they were of the children’s resilience, positivity and encouragement towards one another. The pupils truly embodied our Chapelford values, especially when supporting classmates who found certain challenges a little daunting.

Residentials provide a fantastic opportunity to see our children shine outside the classroom, and this week has been no exception.
A huge thank you to the staff who generously gave their time to make this experience possible.

What a week it has been!
We are incredibly proud of every single child at Chapelford Village Primary School for their enthusiasm, kindness, determination and teamwork. We look forward to more fantastic learning opportunities in the weeks ahead!
