We are incredibly proud to share the exciting news that Chapelford Village Primary School were crowned winners in the primary category at this year’s MAT Factor competition—a Multi Academy Trust event celebrating talent, creativity, and collaboration across our schools.

Miss Garty took a group of children from Years 4 to 6 to perform on the big stage at Great Sankey High School, and they absolutely blew everyone away with their performance. The theme was a powerful one with the children commemorating the end of the Second World War. This was a fitting tribute with the recent 80th anniversary of VE Day, which we celebrated across school.

The performance began with a moving song called I'll Remember, followed by a dramatic spoken piece taken from Winston Churchill’s speech announcing the end of the war. This was followed by a fantastic brass performance, with children waving British flags, filling the theatre with energy and pride. Another line from Churchill’s speech then led into a final celebration, with the children removing their performing arts T-shirts to reveal red, white and blue tops—and bursting into a fun, high-energy dance to Can’t Stop the Feeling! It was such a joyful moment!

Performing after the interval, the Chapelford group were introduced as “a fantastic start to the second half of the show.” One of the judges praised the harmonious singing, the perfect timing between vocals, brass and dance, and the thoughtful shift from remembrance to celebration. He also commented on the clever use of props and the clear joy the children brought to their performance where their genuine happiness and confidence the children shined through.

Throughout rehearsals and on the big night, the children demonstrated incredible resilience, collaboration, and confidence. They truly embodied our school values and represented Chapelford impeccably. We could not be prouder!

Since returning to school, they’ve been celebrated in assemblies, shared their performance with other year groups, and received certificates and lots of cheers from proud classmates and staff.

A huge well done to our brilliant performers; what a way to represent Chapelford!
